can I get out of town already?

It’s been one of those mornings, I’m just trying desperatly to get out of town.

10am: salvage yard for faring parts for the bike is closed, so i drive down there to find it out, since they don’t have it listed as a holiday on their website.

11am: arive for hair cut, salon is swamped, reschedule for 230pm.

12pm: lunch with mom, delicious, thank you, love you so much (only good part of the day).

2pm: afternoon plans to call up a guy I know and look at something he wants to sell (motorcycle luggage) are ruined due to hair cut reschedule.

230pm Hair cut is pushed back AGAIN, to 3pm, and a broken credit card scanner there meant I had to leave the salon and come back with cash from the ATM…

Its now 5pm, and I havn’t acheived half of the things I’ve wanted to get done today, that I said I would get done, at 9am when i woke up, I havn’t showered, packed, or even frankly left the houose.

and I still have to brave traffic to the beach.

can I have a nice cold drink waiting for me there when i arrive please?

What I learned from my 28th birthday (with photos)

Well, I’ve discovered two things from my 28th birthday.
1. I stick my tounge out when I’m drunk and someone has a camera.
2. I apparently can’t keep the drink in the glass, or my mouth, and it has to end up in my lap… no one has said different, so I’m sticking with the story that I didn’t piss my pants.

  LOL – the aftermath: I think we were trying so hard to contain the ’sea of vomit’ to the bathroom, that we didn’t get to the camera. basically any place that could hold water in a bathroom, the floor included…was part of the sea. It was literally the funniest thing I’ve ever seen with d clearly hiding the sea behind the door saying that he had it under control:P

the week in review

one word: busy.
the day job has me jumping through hoops, back fliping through rings of fire, and doding land mines and swinging blades of death. Oh how I WISH I was indiana jones or something interesting… but no, my rings of fire are Active Directory LDAP schemas, my land mines are egos and conflicting project plans that distract you from “work” by making you “talk” about their “work”, my swinging blades of death are deadlines, that are getting closer and closer and closer to lopping me off at the knees. (I’m not sure if my biggest fear is getting my eyes plucked out, or losing everything below my knee caps… ummm things to think about…)

combine this with the moonlighting I do as a freelance web designer (completly on my OWN TIME, in absolutle second priority to my day job, incase any of “you” are reading this, seriously, I mean it), I’ve got a client hounding me about work, in the classice “hurry up and wait” fashion. “omg we need this yesterday, but… I can’t check it tomorrow cause I’ll be on the road, so how’s thursday?”

and I think I mentioned the girl a few posts back… well… thats just ‘wtf’.
I mean… it’s good, we actually cleared something up, but the ’something’ was a big wtf. I’m honestly seriously serious about this… can I find a girl who can communicate… I don’t even CARE if they don’t like me, or if they DO like me, or if they NEED something different. JUST FRACKIN TALK TO ME PEOPLE, SAY SOMETHING.

The last girl I dated, who I was actually –>IN<– to was awesome, until she vanished for 3 weeks and I had to track her shit down to pry out of her what was going on… and poof. yeah *POOF* like a fucking magician… except she never un-poofed.

And I’m just too busy this week to deal with any of it.

Saturday at least I’ll be in NYC for a good friend’s bday party. cheers to that.

I keep talking about it, but I can’t help my self.
I’m really lucky to be living here in Philadelphia with a club like Fluid being as successful as it is. The small size combined with the rich talent that flows through it is a rare find.

Last night I went to yet another “Last Wednesday” event, this time it was featuring the tour of Magda and Richie Hawtin on the min2MAX tour.

I wish I had some way of recording snippits of the mixing from last night, or had somewhere to link you two, since the sound from Magda was something that I hadn’t quite heard before, and I’m going to look pretty hard for something on disk that she’s got for sale.

Richie Hawtin I’ve heard before, but never seen in person, his performance was good, though I think he took his artistic license a little to far. At somepoints he seemed to be more interested in exploring new noises then maintaining the beat… I know I was trying to keep my tempo up, but kept finding it lost in his beat changes.

The crowd was dense, but not obnoxious, and I’m always glad to see good numbers there, even though its a small venue. And being a wednesday night, you can’t argue with the quality of people in general who are there. Most are for real, true blue lovers of the music.

One of my neighbors qualifies as an asshole.
He tags my door way, and sells drugs out of his apartment. I’m guessing its a lucrative deal cause he drives a nice late model Acura… or at least he did.

I just got home from a quick bike ride around town, to find it being towed (finally) from the illegal spot he’s had it in since at least 850am this morning when i went to work.

I mean, if he wasn’t stoned every time I saw him on the street, or spray painting my stoop, or you know, conducting felony behavior next door to my house, I guess I’d have some compassion.

Sucks to be him, you know, in general.

Lets see… Tonight a friend from out of town is showing up for the events of tomorrow…
I have a date this evening…
and tomorrow is Joe’s bachlor party…

Actually, thats all I can talk about, since I have to keep some of the details of that under wraps… but look for a non-incriminating write up when I recover saturday morning…

What else is going on…
Bike’s in the shop for the yearly workover… valves, oil, filters, fluids, etc…
I’ll probably get it back on tuesday, or wednesday… hopefully tuesday

Got to give another shout out to Leah for helping me out thursday with picking me up from the Honda repair shop. I’m glad I’m not stuck in north philly

Alright, back to the grind stone… At least its friday!
