a day at the tracks.

I took off this morning at 8am to meet up with a few of the guys from philadelphiariders.com. On the agenda for the day was a long way around to reach the Pocono Raceway.

About half way there, I stopped to take some pictures…
Like this one…, and and this one…, and This one…, and So on…, and another…, and some more…, Oh wait, another one., I’m not done yet…, almost!, Now I’m done.

Ok, theres some pics.

Anyway, thats just from one of our pitstops, and then another when we were trying to figure out where we were…

We eventually made it up to the race way where a few of my friends were participating in the track day. It looks like a lot of fun, though its a LOT of work and yet another huge expense in an already expensive hobby. I was impressed with the bikes at the track and the little bit of the racing that I saw… which was actually the biggest problem, I barely saw any racing… for the hour or so that I was there before we headed back I saw two races finish, and 2 get red-flagged down.
The second crash was nasty, or at least it required a medivac to come in and helicoptor out the rider. Somehow he didn’t fasten his helmet strap and then high sided on a corner. Not a good combination.

The route we took up and back was comprised of a lot of back roads that were just simply put a blast to ride. Mostly mid range speeds, 40-60 miles per hour with lots of elevation changes and high degree turns.

Alright, I’m exhausted, I was on the bike for maybe 8+ hours today, leaving at 8am.
I’ll say something more later.
